It is with deep sorrow to announce the death of Mrs Amritben Lakhhamshi Ranmal Shah who passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday 13 May 2022 at her home in 2nd ParkLands, Nairobi, Kenya.

She was the wife of the Late Lakhamshi Ranmal Shah (Hemraj Bharmal Ltd) originally of Dabasang, India and thereafter, Nairobi, Kenya.

She was the daughter of the Late Raishi Hira Dhanani and Late Paniben Raishi Hira Dhanani of Chela, India.

She was daughter-in-law of the Late Ranmal Anand Shah and Late Rupaben Ranmal Anand Shah.

She was Mother and Mother-in-Law of Late Mahendra and Late Kashi, Sanjay and Asmita, Punit and Gita.

She was sister-in-law of Late Popatlal Ranmal Shah and Late Shantaben, Late Raichand Ranmal Shah and Late Rambhaben, Late Kasturben and Late Jivraj Rajpar Shah, Late Shantaben and Late Meghji Rajpar Shah.

She was sister (sister-in-law) of Late Nemchand Raishi Dhanani (Late Shantaben), Late Motichand Raishi Dhanani (Late Savitaben), Jayaben (Late Ratilal) Malde, Manjulaben (Late Premchand) Shah and Late Kantibhai Raishi Dhanani.

She was Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Great Aunt, friend, teacher and counsellor to many.

Amritben Lakhamshi Ranmal Shah was a groundbreaker, an independent woman with strong views, who broke the mould by remarrying following widowhood, who gave her time to charitable vocations, taught English, learnt to drive, played the harmonium and the sitar and travelled the world in an era when such opportunities were truly limited.

Those who were fortunate to meet her were truly blessed and will forever cherish her memory.

God bless her soul, she is free at last.
