Street Support Network is an Executive Committee initiative under its Operation Reconnect project which will focus on creating Oshwal neighbourhoods with a very simple set of objectives:
- Communicate
- Assist
- Unite
The initiative will help households in Oshwal neighbourhoods have a voice in the community and help in creating our future strategy which will be inclusive and be based on the aspirations of our members and their needs.
Street Volunteer – What do you require?
Some spare time, ability to listen and communicate. Complete the form below.
A street volunteer will be responsible for looking after approximately 20 to 25 households in their post code area which will be divided via the last part of the postcode. E.g. HA7 2xx. For larger areas we will reconfigure this in a layered approach to ensure that Street Volunteers have the correct number of households.
The success of the Street Support Network is dependent on the following:
- The street champion needs to ensure that the community aligns with identity of the members in a household
- Encourage participation from the households – all its members
- Ensure that the rewards of the service for the participation are realised both intrinsically and extrinsically.
The goal of a vibrant community will only be realised through transparency, engagement and value driven and value-added services and activities which will enhance the quality of living of our members. The true value of a community is never going to be the bank balance and fixed asset valuations, but the real engagement level from its members.
The Street Support Network is our first step for building a bridge with our members, which will help us in creating a vision for our community which will encompass the real aspirations of our members.
Please help us in creating a vibrant community. Please become a Street Champion.
