Late Mrs Darshanaben Narendra Shah (Dedhia)

13 March 1932 – 18 December 2022

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother, Darshanaben Narendra Shah. She passed away peacefully at home on Sunday 18 December 2022 in London, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was 90 years old.

Darshanaben was adored and will be missed by loved ones from all around the world. She was born in India and grew up in Lakadia. After getting married, she moved to Mombasa and started her family life. In 1972, the family moved to the UK and settled in London. Because she was bhabhi to Nimaben and Niranjanbhai, she lovingly became known by her pet name ‘bhabhi’ to all the friends and family. Nimaben and Darshanabhabhi’s pairing was very well known, and they can finally rest in peace together.

She worked hard throughout her life, giving many years of dedicated service to the Aerofoam Factory, until she retired at the age of 65. She was a very talented lady in cooking, sewing, beadwork and many other crafts. Her cooking was so delicious and enjoyed by all. She was also always extremely organised and kept the home spotless.

She always had an infectious smile on her face, which was brought out even more by spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always encouraged and supported the education of her children and grandchildren. Until the very end she remained an independent lady, both physically and mentally. Her legacy and positive impact on all our lives will live on forever.

She was the beloved wife of the Late Narendrabhai Popatlal Shah (Dedhia).

She was the dearest daughter of the Late Jivrajbhai Ravji Nisar, and the Late Bhamiben Jivraj Nisar. She was the beloved daughter-in-law of the Late Popatlal Laxman Dedhia and the Late Varjkuvar Popatlal Dedhia.

She was the beloved sister-in-law of the Late Nimaben Popatlal Shah, and the Late Niranjanbhai Popatlal Shah/the Late Arunaben Niranjan Shah. She was the beloved sister to the Late Sumaben Ratanshi Gala/the Late Ratanshi Gala, and Kamlaben Harakhchand Gada/the Late Harakhchand Gada.

She was the loving mother and mother-in-law of the Late Rakshaben, Shalini (Sheela)/Pravin, Pratik/Jagruti and Bhairavi.

She was the adored grandmother of Kinnari, Bankim/Parul, Sonya/Hamoun, Neha/Amit, Priyanka. She was the treasured great-grandmother of Jia, Navya, Dhriti, Reyna, Kiyan and Maya.

She was the dearest aunty of Bhavna/the Late Dineshbhai, Parool/Chiman, Priti/Atul, and many adoring nieces and nephews.
