Born: 24 December 1941, Dhuniya Sevak, India
Eldest son of Late Shamji Kachra Haria & Kasturben Shamji Haria
Husband of Hansa Chandrakant Haria.
Father to Sejal Ghosh, Seema Shah & Sarika Shah. Father-in-law to Arjo Ghosh and Mayun Rashid.
Elder brother to Dinu Kanti Vora, Jyoti Shamji Shah, Jyotsna Sudhir Shah & Varsheet Shamji Haria.
Grandfather to Layla Ghosh, Sol Ghosh, Imani Donnelly, Kamili Donnelly & Seleena Rashid.
Son-in-law of Late Velji Jivraj Gada & Santokben Velji Jivraj.
Fondly known as ‘mutu wa watu’ – a man of the people, Chandrakant’s warmth and generosity made a mark on everyone he crossed paths with. He lived life to the fullest to his own drumbeat. Always up for adventure, fun and a few risks thrown in for good measure. A man strong in spirit, nothing was too difficult. He always pushed forward with gusto, no matter what obstacles he was confronted with. Chandra was a huge inspiration to his family encouraging us to explore, be open-minded and stay true to ourselves. We will miss him enormously and he will always be in our hearts.
