Late Amritben Lakhamshi Gudka Shah
1st January 1934 – 24th July 2023
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved
Amritben Lakhamshi (Gudka) Shah on Monday 24th July 2023 in Gloucester, UK.
She was born in Sagpar Nagda, India before moving to Mombasa followed my Nairobi, Kenya.
She then settled in Gloucester for the last 41 years.
Wife of Late Lakhamshi Devchand (Gudka) Shah.
Daughter of Late Mepa Jetha Shah and Late Padmaben Mepa Shah.
Daughter-in-law of Late Devchand Hadha Gudka and Late Kankuben Devchand Gudka
Mother of Mukesh, Dinesh, Rita and Gita. Mother-in-law to Daksha, Nila, Anil and Sailesh.
Grandmother of Amar and Allannah, Ria and Adam, Biraag and Shylee, Anjali, Devina, and Anish.
Great-grandmother of Ariana and Amelie.
Sister and sister-in-law of Late Devkurben (Late Meghjibhai), Late Motiben (Late Panachandbhai), Late Kanjibhai (Santaben), Late Kanchanben (Shantilalbhai) and Dhirajlalbhai (Sudhaben).
Sister-in-law of Late Panachandbhai (Late Kasturben), Late Rambhaben (Late Raichandbhai), Late Ratilalbhai (Shantaben), Bhagwanjibhai (Late Kantaben) and Rasilaben (Late Mansukhbhai).
Baa / Nani was a strong, courageous and independent woman. She had a heart of gold with an endless amount of love for all. She enjoyed her daily walks and exercise. She blessed everyone with her contagious smile and laugh which we will all cherish and miss immensely. She had a real passion for cooking, gardening, listening and singing to stavans and the arts. She was a meticulous and organised woman who took great pride in her home which was open for all. She was known for her friendly nature and had many friends throughout the community, both in Gloucester and London.
A clever woman with great wit, a fighter till the very end…

Prathna Sabha will be held on Sunday 30th July 2023 from 3-5pm
at Hall 2, Quedgeley Community Centre, School Lane, Gloucester, GL2 4PJ
(parking available on site and nearby streets)
