Late Khimchand Hansraj Chandaria
14 July 1935 – 25 December 2024
It is with the deepest regret that we announce the passing of our beloved husband (Nimu), father (Bindi, Kiki, Chix), grandfather, great grandfather, brother (Dhanu), uncle and mentor, Khimchand Hansraj Chandaria, on 25 December 2024, in London.
Khim left us at the age of 89, having lived a life rich in adventure, laughter and love.
He was born in Ravalsar, Gujarat, India, moving to Kenya in 1949, first to Mombasa, and then to Nairobi. In the early sixties, he emigrated to London, England, where he settled and built a life with his wife and three daughters.
Khim was a rebel, who carved a path through life in his own unique way. He treated everyone equally, without judgement, across generations and in all walks of life, becoming a confidant and mentor to many.
Although without full formal education, Khim had the capacity for learning and a natural instinct for commerce, mastering each area of business he embarked upon, with strength and resilience, turning failures into ultimate success.
Khim was a man of courage and humour; his legacy will live on in future generations.
