Oshwal Walk on Sunday 23 Feb: Panshanger Park

Route Difficulty & Description:

Join us for a walk around Panshanger Park in Hertfordshire. Panshanger Park in Hertfordshire is a historic park (over 400 hectares) and garden registered Grade II* by English Heritage and part of the estate is also a country park and nature reserve. Much of the parkland was created by Humphry Repton in the late 18th century, with other parts previously landscaped by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown.

Distance: Approx 15km
Terrain: mix of hard and unpaved paths, not very hilly (but a faster pace)
Footwear: walking boots/trail shoes, it will be muddy in sections.

Combination of all above, makes this route moderately difficult.

Date and Time:
Sunday 23 Feb – Arrive by 8:15AM for a prompt 8:30AM start
Finish Approx. by 12:30PM

Rules:

Standard rules to follow:

  • You must not have any COVID-19 symptoms; if in any doubt, arrange a test via the NHS or perform a lateral flow test at home.  If you do have symptoms or test positive, please stay at home and seek medical advice.
  • Hiking shoes, waterproofs and appropriate clothing is highly recommended.  Poles will be useful support on hills.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • You should be physically fit to walk moderate distances unaided in unmarked terrain.
  • Bring at least a litre of water and some snacks.
