Hampstead Heath – 25 Feb 2024

Oshwal Trekkers Walk on Sunday 25 Feb: Hampstead Heath

Route Difficulty & Description (Approx. 7 Miles):

Join us on the beautiful walk through one of London’s most famous parks – Golders Hill Park & the infamous Hampstead Heath. Hampstead Heath is a wild park of woodland and meadows. It sprawls over 800 acres and boasts some of the most spectacular views in the city. This is the park that inspired C.S. Lewis to write The Chronicles of Narnia, that Constable spent his final years painting, and Londoners of all stripes have been coming here to escape the city for over 200 years.

You will ascend to the impressive viewpoint of Parliament Hill, trek to the landmark English Heritage maintained Kenwood House, and stumble upon The Spaniards Inn. This characterful inn built in 1585 was named after the Spanish Ambassador to James I of England and rumour has it highwayman Dick Turpin was born there, whilst his father was landlord in the early 1700s.

The walk will be at a good pace and involve some hills.
