Oshwal Walk at Chess Valley – 28 June 2026
Route Difficulty & Description:
A moderately challenging walk with some hills.
Join us for this 10-mile walk through the beautiful Chess Valley, following sections of the River Chess, we’ll pass through a landscape of clear chalk streams, water meadows, ancient woodland and rolling hills, with plenty of classic Chiltern views along the way.
The route takes in quiet riverside paths, open countryside and a number of picturesque villages, where flint cottages, old churches and village greens add to the character of the valley. In summer the meadows are rich with wildflowers, while the river and surrounding woodland provide excellent opportunities for spotting wildlife.
We’ll keep a steady pace with appropriate pauses for hydration enroute. Expect a mix of footpaths, tracks and some hills.
Warm and potentially wet conditions expected, strong recommendation on appropriate nutrition, attire and footwear.
