The ever popular annual Daal Roti programme held by Northampton area on Saturday 17th March 2018. Due to the horrible weather and return of the “Beast from East” the attendance was not what we had anticipated, nevertheless nearly 50 people attended and enjoyed evening.
To warm up and build an appetite we started off the evening with some ever popular garbas. The new committee was introduced to all who had not attended the AGM. After this deliciously simple, yet extremely satisfy, meal of mix daal, garam roti, onion and tomato salad and chaas was served.
The last hour or so was spent playing antakshri. Throughout the various rounds of antakshri the atmosphere was one of fun and laughter with a bit of healthy and friendly competition between the men and women’s teams. Masala tea, coffee and biscuits were served. Due to heavy snow and terrible weather the event ended earlier than usual.
The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all and we received many compliments from all those who attended. The committee is extremely thankful to all the volunteers who made the food and helped clear up afterwards. More photos can be seen here
