Building our future together
We welcome all donations – every donation will make a difference. However, the donation acknowledgement scheme is applicable to amounts specified in each scheme proposal.
Our centres and facilities are at the heart of community life. They are places where we come together to worship, learn, celebrate, support one another and pass our values on to future generations.
Ensuring these important spaces are safe, compliant, sustainable and well maintained is one of our highest priorities. In recent months we have made significant progress in strengthening compliance, and this essential work continues.
We are also committed to investing in our properties so they remain fit for purpose and continue to serve our community for many years to come and that is why we are launching five new fund raising schemes:
Caring for Our Community | Caring for Our Planet
Jain teachings encourage us to live with greater awareness of our impact on the world around us. Principles of ahimsa, sustainable living, conservation and environmental stewardship are more relevant than ever.
And what better place to begin than within our own community centres?
This Paryushan, we are launching five fundraising initiatives [CLICK HERE] designed to help us care for our properties, conserve natural resources, reduce long-term costs and create more sustainable spaces for our community. By supporting these funds, you can help us protect the places that bring our community together, make responsible use of our resources and put our Jain values of care, responsibility and stewardship into practice.
Your support will help to fund:

- Resurfacing of the Ekta Centre Car Park – helping us maintain and improve an important part of the centre’s infrastructure.
- Solar Panels for Ekta Centre – investing in renewable energy and helping reduce energy costs and our environmental impact.
- Solar Panels at Oshwal Centre –supporting a more sustainable future for one of our key community spaces.
- Restoration of Oshwal House –helping preserve and restore an important community property for future generations.
- Completed Refurbishment of Shakti Centre –supporting the essential refurbishment work already undertaken to maintain and improve the centre.

These projects are more than just repairs, upgrades or improvements. They are an investment in our community and in the generations that will follow us.

To join the Oshwal Welfare Fund (OWF)
To ensure that we can offer the care and support to all our members, we have introduced the Oshwal Welfare Fund (OWF) in September 2022. This scheme will subsume the “£120 scheme” (the existing donors will have the opportunity to increase their donations should they wish to do so). The OWF will give the entire donation to the Area to ensure that we can fully or partly fund all the following:
- Wellbeing
- Welfare
- Educational
- Youth Empowerment activities
- Personal Development
- Professional and Transferable Skills
- Professional Development
- Health Focus
Areas will provide details of where the funds have been spent by them at the Annual General Meetings.
(These funds are used for member only events and should not be used on Culture & Heritage and Religious events and activity)
