Venue: Canon Palmer School, Aldborough Road South, Seven Kings, IG3 8EU

This year the Savanstri Bhojan was sponsored by Mrs Lalitaben Amritlal Lakhamshi Shah and her family, in the memory of the loved ones departed from her family. The East Area OAUK  are grateful for their kind generosity. In addition the food was prepared and cooked at Mrs Lalitaben’s residence.

The menu was Ladoo, urad daal, black eye bean curry,  puri, rice, dal, rotla, chaas, and chilli apple pickle. There were about 10 volunteers who came to help making ladoos on Saturday. On Sunday there were again about 15 / 16 volunteers to make Curry and Puri.

Lot of work was involved. Many thanks to all the volunteers who came on these two days. Special thanks to Jaywantiben and Chandanben for the preparation of curry.  Special thanks to Mr Ashwin Virpar shah and Lataben in purchasing all the ingredients for the savansri bhojan, and others who helped in doing so. At this point, I will also thank Mr. Navin Khimji Shah who helped to provide the transportation to and from the hall.

The Savanstri started by a small welcome speech by Mrs  Bhartiben Babulal Shah (Religious Chairperson) with the recital of navkar and one minute silence for departed soul and world peace. Mr Kishorbhai Lalji Haria (Hon.Chairperson) followed after with a speech, and welcomed the  guests from EC. It was an honour to have OAUK Hon. President Mr Tushar Jayantilal Shah, Mr Nilesh Bhagwanji Shah  ( Hon.  vice president ), Mr Sudhirbhai Meghji Shah (Oshwal News, media and communication ), and Mr Ashwinbhai Jethalal Shah ( Enabling network, health & welfare ). Mr Tusharbhai gave a speech and then Hon. Secretary Mrs Lalitaben welcomed everyone and gave her speech., followed by the Shanti which was recited by  Mr Kishorbhai and Twelve Navkar mantra was recited in samuh.

We had invited  Mr Mahendra Vardhman  Shah of Navagam, Mrs Kumudben  Shah and their son Chirag with Mrs Jyotsnaben from Wellingborough to perform Bhajans at the Savanstri  Bhojan. Everyone enjoyed the bhajans and we saw that many members stayed behind to listen to the bhajans.  Special thanks to Mr Narottam Raichand Shah for organising this event.

We had a good attendance and everyone enjoyed the food which was delicious and served by volunteers in an efficient manner.  The Savansri Bhojan was a success in the East Area.  We thank all the volunteers who helped in every little way possible, and all committee members to make this event very successful. Also must emphasise a special thanks to Lalitaben and Family.
