Enabling Network – Gauging interest for Hospitality and Employability Course

Oshwal Enabling Network (EN) are exploring a hospitality skills and employability course in collaboration with London’s Community Kitchen (LCK), specifically designed for adults (19+) with mild to moderate learning difficulties.  At this stage, we are scoping whether this would be of interest.

LCK have been working in partnership with both Harrow College and College of North West London for many years, providing courses for students with learning difficulties and funded by EHCPs. This course is designed for post 19+ and for those who do not have an EHCP.

Our goal is to create a friendly, inclusive space to build confidence and real-world skills that can help with independence and possibly lead to employment. Here is what would be covered:

  • Cookery Classes: Developing practical culinary skills
  • Barista Training: Learn professional coffee-making techniques.
  • Front & Back of House: Everything from customer service and greeting to keeping professional kitchen running smoothly and where applicable reception duties.
  • Tailored Support: Small group sizes in a fully accessible environment.

Details:
Schedule: 1 or 2 days a week (10am – 2pm)
Location: Alperton or Harrow

Cost: Approx. £150–£310 (depending on venue/days) per week per person for 46 weeks. The commitment would have to be for the whole course of 46 weeks (approximately one academic year).

We would need a minimum number to make the course viable to run. If there is enough interest, we may be able to explore grant funding or other options to subsidise the cost.

If this is of interest or if you have any questions, please email: en@oshwal.org by 19th January 2026. Many thanks from the Oshwal Enabling Network team!
