On Sunday 12th June 2016, we had a successful inter-area Bhukhar competition where we had 180 competitors ie 60 teams with three participants in each one. The competitors were mainly from Northwest area however we had a few from Finchley, Potters Bar, Harpenden, Luton, Northampton and as far as Nairobi.
A scrumptious menu, prepared by our team of volunteers, consisted of the following dishes:
- Breakfast: cereal chevdo, kajili, ghantia, sambharo, fried marcha, khakhra and fresh fruit of grapes and water melon.
- Lunch: garam khichi, Mexican bhel, dabeli and fresh fruit salad with ice-cream.
- Tea-time: masala tea and home-made biscuits and cookies.
A total of nine games were played throughout the day whereby Team Kijanas, Keshavlal Nathoo Shah; Ramesh R Shah; Hasmukh R Shah, merged as the 1st prize winners of the competition. These were the winners of the day:
