On behalf of the Leicester area committee, we are grateful for the generous donations for Anukampa and Jivdaya in 2020. £762 were collected from the area members and the rest topped up to a total of £1000 from the Association.
ANUKAMPA
The committee decided to donate £300 to LOROS a local charity providing free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult patients, their family and carers within the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland.
Rajeshbhai and Chimanbhai presented the cheque on behalf of the area on Monday 14th December 2020. A letter of appreciation was received from LOROS.
JIVDAYA
For Jivdaya, the committee agreed to donate to the Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital in Kibworth. This is the 3rd year we have donated to this institution, run by volunteers, and it is wonderful to see the improvements made to the site over the years.
This year we bought and supplied amongst other items:… hedgehog shelters, feeding aids, syringes and nursing bottles, antiseptic gels, blue hand towels, poultry feed, tick removers, germicidal ointment, powder milk, antiseptic spray and travel cages. Nikunjbhai and Hemalben delivered the items on Saturday 19th December on behalf of the Leicester Area.
Similar to what we are facing, quite a few of the birds had to be “isolated” due to increased cases of bird flu. The volunteers, as always, were kind enough to show and explain us a few of the cases currently being treated. The cygnet had to be operated as it had a fishing line engaged through its beak whilst the swan was being treated for a fungal infection.
Thank you for your support.
