It is with profound grief and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mrs. Jayaben Ratilal Devraj Shah (Gaam Changaa – formerly of Meru Town)  who left us on Tuesday, 12 August 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya.

Born to late Jesang Bhoja Shah and Late Amratben Bhoja Shah, she was a cherished daughter whose kindness and gentle spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her familial bonds were deep and enduring—she was the loving daughter-in-law of Late Devraj Dharamshi and Late Puriben Devraj Dharamshi (Meru)

A devoted wife to Late Ratilal Devraj Shah

As a mother, Jayaben’s love was boundless. She was the caring, nurturing mother of Rajesh Ratilal Shah (Kenya) and Nipuna Chetan Shah (UK), always offering unwavering support, encouragement and warmth.

She was mother-in-law to Heena Rajesh Shah and Chetan Dhirajlal Shah, who were blessed by her gentle guidance and affection

Her life was enriched by her siblings—Late Manjuben (Prabhulalbhai), Late Shantibhai (Taraben), Late Jayantibhai (Pushpaben), Late Induben (Late Shantibhai), Late Lataben (Navinbhai), Navinbhai (Bhartiben), and Ajitbhai (Minaben)—whose memories remain intertwined with hers

She was sister-in-law to Late Shardaben (Late Jayantilalbhai), Late Vijayben (Late Gulabbhai), Late Harakchandbhai (Kanchanben), Kanchanben (Late Jayantilal),Late Suryaben (Late Shantilalbhai), Late Rameshbhai (Mayeshwariben), Shobnaben (Late Jayantilalbhai) and Pratibhaben (Kamleshbhai)—their shared stories and laughter now live on in loving remembrance

Her legacy of affection lives on in her grandchildren—Akshi, Rikin and Janvi—who were the light of her life and brought her immeasurable joy

As an aunt, she showered love generously on Sonal (Jatin), Punita (Mehul), Jiten (Nishita), Prasita (Parul) and many more

The final respects will take place on Thursday, 14th August 2025 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the Oshwal Centre, Ring Road Parklands, Nairobi.

The Cortege will leave for the crematorium from Oshwal Centre, Nairobi on Thursday, 14th August 2025 at 2:00pm and crematorium will take place at the Hindu Shamshan Bhumi, Kariokor at 2:30pm

Meeting the family will be held on Thursday 14th August 2025 at Oshwal Centre, Parklands, Nairobi from 7:00pm to 8:00pm followed by prayers at 8:00pm

Final Respects & Saadri in the UK will be held on Sunday 31st August 2025 Time: 3pm-4:30pm

In a beautiful final act of generosity and compassion, Jayaben’s corneas were donated to the Kanubhai Babla Lions National Eye Bank, gifting the precious gift of sight to others.

When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. Her presence now lives in the cherished hearts of all she loved. May her soul rest in eternal peace
