It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing away of Lalji Raichand Mepa Shah of Mill Hill on 11 December 2020.

Doting Grandfather to Kush, Krina and Meerav

Son of late Raichand Mepa and late Maniben Raichand Shah of Nyeri, Kenya

Son-In-Law of late Harakchand Ranmal and late Raniben Harakchand Shah of Mombasa (Kenya)

Brother and brother-in-law to: Taru, Ramnik, Pankaj, Niru, Late Mahendra, Aruna, Aruna, Late Krishan, Nitin and Naina

Brother in Law to: Late Chandu, Saroj, Ramesh, Late Saroj, Late Chandrakant, Anju, Late Anil, Anju, Nilesh and Vatsala

Laljibhai was born in Arusha, Tanzania, grew up in Nyeri, spent a short time in Mombasa before moving to London in 1971 aged 32. He retired from a long service at John Lewis Partnership, Oxford Circus in 2004.

He was a kind and loving Soul and remembered for his friendly, helpful nature and for his constant beaming smile. He developed a passion for playing bridge. He loved socialising with people making time to talk to both young and old. He was a devoted loving husband for more than 57 years, carer for his wife,Champaben, from whom he was inseparable. Laljibhai will be truly missed by family and friends.

Having survived a heart attack in 1992 age 54 we are grateful and blessed to have had the last 28 years.
