Late Prabhulalbhai Premchand Vaghji Sumaria

Late Prabhulalbhai Premchand Vaghji Sumaria

Our dearly beloved Prabhulalbhai passed away peacefully in Bhuj, Kutch, India on Friday 1st November 2019, aged 75.

Prabhulalbhai was the eldest of the Late Mrs Jivatiben P. V. Shah and Late Premchandbhai V. Shah’s six children and was born in Dabasang, Gujarat, India on Thursday 7th September 1944.

Prabhulalbhai was husband to Taraben, father to the late Nita, Rashna, Bhavesh and Viphul, father-in-law to Anjan and Abha, Nana to Monish and Yashica and Dada to Hiya.

He was brother to Satishbhai P. V. Shah and Kirtida M. Shah and brother-in-law to Hansa S. Shah and Mukesh R. Shah.

Whilst Prabhulalbhai spent most of his life in India, he spent his earlier years in Kenya. At the age of 3, he sailed across the Indian ocean with this mother to join his father in Kenya in 1947.

In Kenya, the family resided in Mombasa where Prabhulalbhai attended primary school before moving to Kiambu from where he commuted daily to Nairobi for his secondary education. The family moved back to Mombasa in 1963 when Prabhulalbhai helped his father run the hardware store, Premchand Vaghji.

In 1971, he met the love of his life, Taraben, and moved to Mumbai, India in 1973. Rashna was born that same year in Mumbai, followed by Bhavesh in Lakhabawal in 1976 and Viphul in Bengaluru in 1984.

For most of his life, Prabhulalbhai worked at Natesh Embroidery Threads in Bengaluru and could be seen rushing around on his scooter. Like his father, he was a spiritual man who loved reading and writing letters, talking on the phone with his extended family and taking good care of those in his company.

In 2018, Prabhulalbhai, Taraben and Bhavesh moved to Kutch to enjoy a quieter life. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
