Late Premchand Mulji Shah
23rd March 1932 – 18th December 2023
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sad passing away of Mr. Premchand Mulji Shah
He was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania before moving to Mombasa, Kenya where he spent forty-four years. He then emigrated to the UK and settled in Croydon for the last forty-seven years.
He was the son of Late Mr Mulji Meghji & Late Mrs Hirubai Mulji Shah and son-in-law of Late Mr Hirji Nathoo & Late Mrs Muriben Hirji Shah.
He was a very devoted husband to Kanchanben.
He was Father and Father-in-Law to Sailesh & Gita, Nipun & Parul and Jaina & Hanish.
He was an adoring grandfather to six grandchildren who became his best friends and reveled in his company – Papa and Nana to Shanil, Anjali, Devina, Payal, Mihir, and Sajni.
He was brother to Late Mrs. Jayaben Liladhar Shah (Late Mr. Liladhar Punja Shah) and Late Mrs. Maniben Ratilal Dodhia (Late Mr. Ratilal Lakhamshi Dodhia),
He was brother in law to Late Mrs. Radiatben Ramniklal Savla (Late Mr. Raminklal Jethalal Savla), Mrs. Manjulaben Maganlal Shah (Late Mr. Maganlal Govindji Shah), Late Dr.Nirmala Hirji Shah, Mr. Girishchandra Hirji Shah (Late Mrs. Kumudben Girishchandra Shah), Mrs. Hansaben Dineshchandra Shah (Late Mr. Dineshchandra Velji Shah), Dr. Madhusudhan Hirji Shah (Late Dr. Bina Madhusudhan Shah).
He was Mama, Fuva and friend to many.
Papa / Nana had a radiant personality that touched many hearts throughout his incredible 91 years of life. He was a humble, generous and caring man who always had a positive outlook on life. Amongst his many characteristics, he had a thirst for knowledge, a passion for playing bridge and a deliciously sweet tooth.
We will all miss him dearly but he has left a lasting legacy for all of us to aspire to.
