Late Shantaben Devchand Kanji Shah
1 January 1932 – 19 January 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs Shantaben Devchand Kanji Shah (Anand Hansraj) at her home in Harrow on Monday, 19 January 2026, at the age of 94.
She was the beloved daughter and daughter-in-law of:
Late Lalji Mepa Shah and Late Punji Virpar Kumbha (Gaam: Nana Mandha)
Late Anand Hansraj Jakharia and Late Rajalben Anand Jakharia (Gaam: Dhatta)
She was the devoted wife of Late Devchand Kanji (Anand).
A loving and cherished mother and mother-in-law to:
Tara (Late Chandrakant), Shila (Rashmi), Late Pankaj, and Bindu (Nipul).
A dearly loved grandmother to:
Atusha, Meera (Khilen), Deepan (Sonal), Jyotika (Bhavesh), Savan (Olga), and Prina (Jaisha).
A treasured great-grandmother to:
Ayush, Zaiden, and Leo.
She was a beloved sister-in-law to:Late Ratilal Anand and Late Kantaben (Nairobi),Late Manilal Anand and Late Nirmalaben (Mumbai), Late Chandulal Anand and Kanchanben (Nairobi),Late Kantilal Anand and Late Lilavantiben (Bhiwandi),Late Monghiben and Late Jethalal Kanji (Mumbai),Late Manjulaben and Late Meghji Dodhia (Mumbai), and sister-in-law to Keshavji Nathoo (Colombo) and Late Gunvantiben.
She was Bhaneji to Late Popatlal Virpar Dodhia (Mumbai),
Sister to Late Hirji Lalji Gudka and Late Shantilal Lalji Gudka (Mumbai),
and Motiba to many across Nairobi, India, and London.
We are truly blessed to have had her as our mother, grandmother (Nani), and Motiba. She will be deeply missed, yet we give thanks for a beautiful, strong, and independent soul whose love, wisdom, and joy touched so many lives. Her teachings and cherished memories will live on in our hearts forever.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Springwood Health Care Services for their exceptional care and kindness over the last year.
We humbly ask for your prayers and understanding and respectfully request no home visits as the family takes time to grieve.
