Late Shantaben Jayantilal Shah
13 August 1941 – 22 August 2026
With deep sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of Shantaben Jayantilal Shah on 22 August 2026 in Harrow, London.
Shantaben was born in Changa, India, lived in Kenya and Uganda before residing in Harrow, London for the last 54 years.
She was the beloved wife of the late Jayantilal Somchand Hirji Shah.
And the beloved daughter of the Late Rama Raishi Dodhia and Late Jiviben Rama Dodhia and daughter in law to the late Somchand Hirji Shah and Daiben Somchand Shah.
She was the much loved youngest sister (and sister in law) to the late Motilal Hansraj Dodhia (the late Vijyaben Motilal), the late Paniben Meghji Shah (the late Meghji Vaghji) and Ranjanben Kantilal Shah (the late Kantilal Devraj).
She was the adored mummy to Kalpesh, Sanjit and Reena and a wonderful mother-in-law to Kishori, Warda and Ian.
She leaves behind a special place in their hearts as dadi to Dylan, Ethan and Freya, and as nani to Miayla and Coco.
Shantaben’s joy, life and light touched all our wider family, and she showed great dedication and care to everyone she encountered. She was also an active member of the Shree Raj Saubhag community, and devoted much of her life to helping others and Jain teachings.
May her soul be in eternal peace. Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.
According to her wishes, a sadadi will not be held and we all will be praying for her soul’s onward journey.
Funeral details are yet to be confirmed and will be announced once they become available.
