Late Vilasgauri Ratilal Dhanani, MBE
3 April 1937 – 5 November 2025
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Vilasgauri Dhanani on 5th November 2025. She was the loving wife of Late Mr. Ratilal Dhanani
Daughter of Late Devchand Mulji & Late Hiraben Devchand Dodhia
and Daughter-in-Law to Late Jethalal Nanchand & Late Hiraben Jethalal Dhanani
Born in the 1930’s in Kenya, she was devoted to family, faith and service.
After moving to London in the early 1970s, she recognised the needs of newly arrived Asian women and founded Shravika Satsang Mandal in 1974. For more than 40 years, she supported and empowered thousands, training many women and raising significant funds for charitable causes for the UK, India, The Gambia and Kenya. She provided training in yoga and reflexology, guidance in alternative medicines and coaching on mindfulness and meditation, including to those facing personal challenges and who had themselves lost loved ones.
She also co-founded Wealmoor Ltd in the 1970s.
In 2016, she was honoured with an MBE for her lifelong community service.
She will be deeply missed by her family and loved ones near and far.
