Jai Jinendra ??

Maya is 8 years old. Maya’s school, Northwood College for Girls, has collaborated with the British Asian Trust to support the Childline India Foundation and this is the first British Asian Trust collaboration with a school.

After a school assembly about the British Asian Trust and its work for people affected by issues in South East Asia, Maya decided she wanted to raise as much money as possible for this amazing cause.

She is a very keen swimmer and was recently invited to swim for Hillingdon Junior Academy, where she trains twice a week. She also swims for her school swim squad and often competes in galas. She thought about how she could incorporate her love of swimming into raising money and came up with the idea of doing a swimathon of 800m. Maya’s school has been very supportive of her idea.

Maya wanted a challenge for herself and has now completed her challenge on 24th February 2020, swimming the full distance in half an hour. Her target was to raise £800 and now she has seen the generosity of all her friends and family, she wants to raise even more.

We are so grateful to the Oshwal Committee for putting this up on the website and hopefully reaching out to more people who might be able to donate.
