Oshwals Making History: England Kho Kho Teams Shine at the World Cup

Wow… what an incredible journey it has been for Kho Kho England and the 10 young Oshwals who proudly were part of the team. It’s been an amazing week keeping up with their progress virtually from the UK.

A huge well done to both the men’s and women’s teams for showing the world that you are a force to be reckoned with. They have made history as the first-ever England Kho Kho World Cup team – no one can ever take that away from them.

Thank you to all the Coaches for the tireless work in getting the teams to India and supporting them throughout this remarkable achievement. The Coaches have been putting years of hard work to reach this stage.

For the women’s team to miss out on a place in the quarter-finals on points difference is especially harsh, as they would have given everything in each match. In such a tightly contested competition, it’s a cruel reminder of how every single point counts.

As for the men’s team, losing to South Africa (who claim Kho Kho to be their indigenous game) in the quarter-finals was a hard-fought battle. South Africa is a formidable opponent in Kho Kho, and competing against them in the knockout rounds was a tough challenge. Nonetheless, reaching the quarter-finals in a global competition is a fantastic accomplishment and will be invaluable for future tournaments.

Both teams can take immense pride in their performances, and this experience will undoubtedly make us stronger for the next World Cup. They have already achieved so much, and the best is yet to come.
