Monday 29th August 2016 – Nileshbhai Bhagwanji Shah (OAUK Vice President) along with other EC members Shaileshbhai, Mradulaben, Varshaben, – visited East Area Paryushan festivities.
Kishorbhai Lalji Haria ( East Area Chairperson and EC Member ) warmly welcomed all guests and the evening was filled with peaceful jain stavans and Vachan, followed by Aarti and Mangal divo.
Nileshbhai spoke briefly about the many different events and ongoing activities in our Association, also emphasising on the Directory verification process which is now underway in all Areas and the focus on Youth activities (not just sports) as a means of engaging our young Oshwals to take part in our Community activities as well as to become the next leaders of our Association. Also mentioned about OVG which is being revived and requested children to take part in OVG.He also requested to join the £120.00 scheme where the area benefits and also the association. Nileshbhai invited East Area to participate in a joint savanstri Bhojan at Oshwal Centre on Dajja Din, from next year.
Paryushan started on 29th August and was well attended everyday, with about 50 to 60 members attending to do the Pratikraman. The Pratikraman was performed by Velji Mulji Malde, Kishore Lalji Haria and Hinesh Ramnik Shah.
Everyday the pratikraman was performed, than the bhavna by public , Vachan by Dinuben, Bhartiben update on the events and the bidding of Aarti and Mangal divo by Chandubhai. If time permitted we played Ras garba with the music by Bharatbhai and party, with ras garba songs by many members from the area.
Mahavir Janma Kalyanak was celebrated with about 200 members present. Everyone were happy and there was lot of spirit amongst the members.
First we had the Kalpasutra Vachan by Velji Mulji Malde and then the Bidding of the 14 sapna’s.
The parna ma Shreefal padhravvanu was performed by the committee and then the parnu julavanu, followed by aarti and mangal divo. The Mahavir Janma Kalyanak was celebrated with lots of happiness.
The next day was a children’s program and many children took part at a very short notice. Aayushi Hinesh Shah started the program with navkar mantra, manglik, and 24 tirthankar stavan and another stavan which kept a pin drop silence in the hall. Aayushi is only 8 years old and was so confident to perform in front of a large audience. Than other children read about what is paryushan, and the last was about forgiveness. Than there was a violin played with a stavan.
Children showed a very talented program and wish they come up with another next Paryushan.
The tapasvi bahuman was on the 7th day and we had four tapasvi.

The “bahuman” of the tapasvi was performed by the elders of East area. And the photos are on the website. The bahuman was done by Velji Mulji Malde, Jethabhai Shah, Mulchandbhai Malde, Rambhaben Malde Javiben Shah, Monghiben Shah, Kasturben Shah and Khimii Ben Mulchand Shah.
